Today the Metropolitan Police have confirmed to the Pitchford Inquiry into undercover policing that ‘Carlo Neri’, as we knew him, was an undercover police officer. That ‘Carlo’ infiltrated the Socialist Party from 2001 to 2006 on behalf of the Metropolitan Police’s Special Demonstration Squad (SDS) is unfortunately not surprising. And it is very far from being the first such revelation.
