Defend UNISON health activist

YUNUS BAKHSH, a long-standing UNISON health activist, is facing disciplinary action from his employers in the north east and from UNISON, at the same time.

This frame-up should be opposed by all activists in the union. UNISON's right-wing leadership has used situations like this in the past to launch attacks against other left wingers. This was the case when Glenn Kelly, a Socialist Party member in Bromley UNISON, was attacked by his own employers a few years ago. In that case, with the support of UNISON members and the Socialist Party, the attack on Glenn never succeeded.

Socialist Party members on UNISON's national executive have signed a letter supporting Yunus Bakhsh.
