Derby health workers

AT LEAST 200 Unison members working for Derby Hospitals met on 26 February to discuss a response to management's attempts to 'downband' many posts.

Angry at these forced pay cuts, the meeting voted almost unanimously for action up to and including strike action. Plans are now being made for a strike ballot.

The call for strike action has already forced management to withdraw their immediate plans to downband healthcare assistants' posts but this attempt to divide the workforce will not work.
