RMT's Bob Crow attacks the 'three Tory parties'

IN THE debate on public ownership at the RMT rail union annual general meeting (AGM), general secretary Bob Crow said: "The reality is that we have three Tory parties in Britain now - the Tory party, the Labour party and the LibDems. All support privatisation, all support anti-union laws, all support illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. But people in the street don't want that. They are opposed to privatisation, anti-union laws and wars."

Unfortunately there was no resolution before the AGM to discuss political representation for the working class - although a number of delegates indicated opposition to New Labour.

Fighting redundancies

STATION STAFF at 19 major rail stations will be striking for 24 hours from noon on 26 June. 250 rail union RMT members and 100 members of TSSA are striking because Network Rail have failed to give guarantees of no compulsory redundancies and other commitments during a reorganisation.

The stations affected are: Birmingham New Street, Cannon Street, Charing Cross, Ebbsfleet, Edinburgh Waverley, Euston, Fenchurch Street, Gatwick, Glasgow Central, Kings Cross, Leeds, Liverpool Lime Street, Liverpool Street, London Bridge, Manchester Piccadilly, Paddington, St Pancras, Stratford International, Victoria and Waterloo.
