High Court bombshell on Brexit decision

The decision of the High Court that the government must allow Parliament a say in the issue of Brexit is a bombshell with wide, and perhaps even unforeseen, effects. It could lead to a general election next year which in turn will widen even further the endemic splits within the Tory Party. Solid Southern strike continues against Britain's 'worst' train company

Workers have turned out in large numbers at the Southern Rail offices in Barnham, West Sussex, determined to win their dispute. "The result at ScotRail [where workers won a victory to keep conductors on every train] is a boost to our campaign and gives us confidence we can get a result," was the view of an RMT member on the recent strike.
