The Socialist Party has had fantastic success in the first quarter of 2026 – raising a total of £49,985 for the fighting fund! Thank you to all those who donated to support our campaigns, including those Socialist Party members who contributed to the fantastic financial appeal at our Congress in March, in which £37,876 was pledged.
These funds will help us to resource our campaigning during the local elections, in which Socialist Party members will be standing as part of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition. Socialist Party members are also involved in campaigning for fighting, democratic trade unions by standing in elections in Unite, Unison and PCS.
Millions of workers face the renewed threat of rising prices, and the Socialist Party faces the same. For example, sending the thousands of leaflets, as well as the Socialist newspaper, campaign posters and other resources, by Royal Mail to get into the hands of campaigners is getting even more expensive. The cost of a first class stamp has now risen to £1.80.
Profiteers like the billionaire owners of privatised Royal Mail can’t be allowed to get away with exploiting the capitalist crisis to get even richer at our expense. Our fundraising is more important than ever, because our socialist politics, calling for nationalisation, socialist planning and a new workers’ party that fights for it, are needed more than ever.
