Frank Holt, Bradford Socialist Party

On Friday 19 August we set up a Socialist Party campaign stall in Todmorden which is a small market town on the border of West Yorkshire and Lancashire.  To the best of our knowledge a stall had not been held here before so we did not know what would happen.

As it was it exceeded all expectations. Ten papers were sold, £9.17 fighting fund was raised and one contact card was filled in.

A wide range of people stopped to talk to us, including young shop workers, mothers pushing prams, older workers and retired people. A pensioner said that it was about time someone started to fight back and a climate activist wished us the best of luck.

I think that we may hold a stall in Todmorden again and it also looks promising for next year’s local elections.
