Tamil Solidarity 2024 AGM
Tamil Solidarity 2024 AGM

The annual general meeting (AGM) of Tamil Solidarity (TS) was held on 18 February. The meeting was well-attended, with key members and supporters taking part.

Tamil Solidarity has always recognised the importance of the trade unions, and GMB and Socialist Party member Chris McNulty attended, alongside PCS NEC member Austin Harney who delivered a solidarity message and assuring continued support for Tamil Solidarity from the civil service union.

TS proposed to pass two resolutions at the AGM: one on TS’s position regarding the possible presidential election in Sri Lanka, and the other on youth work. The election resolution was introduced by TU Senan, while the Young Revolutionaries in Solidarity (YRS) resolution was introduced by Rithiga and Saarangan. Following a discussion, both resolutions were agreed upon by the AGM.

Overall, it was an excellent meeting where members expressed renewed enthusiasm to carry forward the work of Tamil Solidarity.
