Ask most people if they are happy with Tory leader Rishi Sunak and the response is likely to contain expletives. Ask most Tory councillors, and they are unhappy too – 65%, according to one poll.
Have they seen the light? Are they fed up of carrying out endless cutbacks to local services? Do they think it’s wrong that the rich keep getting richer and we pay the price?

Rotten Reform
Some Tories have already jumped ship to right-wing Reform UK. Its leader had to tell its prospective candidates: “For heaven’s sake, if you’re going to have a glass of wine on a Friday night then don’t use social media, it’s not sensible”.
Five in a week have been suspended for making disgusting racist and sexist comments.
