PCS members working on outsourced contracts with G4S, ISS and OCS are on strike for two weeks over pay, terms and conditions. They are taking action at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, the Department for Business and Trade, the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, and the Cabinet Office.
The strikers include security staff, receptionists, cleaners, caterers and porters. Bosses have only offered pay equivalent to the London Living Wage, with minimal annual leave and no entitlement to sick pay.
PCS calls for these workers to be brought in-house on civil service contracts – the civil service ‘boss’ is now a Labour government!
- Workers are striking in East Kilbride and London. Picket lines in London are on 28-31 October and 4-7 November.
- PCS members working for G4S as Jobcentre security guards are also continuing their action
