Tories say get used to worsening living standards

In her first speech of the year, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch had an inspiring message: people in Britain aren’t rich and need to learn to ‘live within our means’.

Working-class people don’t feel rich after over a decade and a half of Tory cuts, with our wages slashed and public services shuttered or run into the ground.

But the millionaires certainly do. While we suffer, they live outside the means of the rest of society – getting richer at our expense. Whether that’s picking profitable parts of the public sector like vultures, or keeping pay low and rents sky-high.

Badenoch is speaking for the bosses – get used to things getting worse. Unfortunately that’s a message parroted by all the establishment parties, that’s why we need a new mass working-class party.
