Billionaire wealth increases three times faster than previous year

$5.7 billion every day. That’s how much the world’s billionaires’ wealth increased every day in 2024. Meanwhile, 3.5 billion people live in poverty. Oxfam’s ‘Takers not makers’ report confirms Karl Marx’s analysis that brutal inequality is inherent in the capitalist system. “Accumulation of wealth at one pole is, therefore, at the same time accumulation of misery […] at the opposite pole.”

But governments cannot take the action necessary while wedded to the capitalist system. Marx is clear what is needed – a complete reorganisation of society, putting the working-class across the world in the driving seat. Cancelling debt and confiscating the plunder hoarded by the super-rich. Putting to use the wealth, resources and technique to improve the lives of all, instead of enriching a tiny few.
