Unison members on strike at the National Mining Museum in Wakefield entered their third week of strike action to find that management had called the police on them.

This was the latest desperate move from a management that reneged on a pay offer which would have settled the dispute before it began. On the picket line, many strikers were clear they no longer had any confidence in the chief executive.

The strikers are receiving widespread solidarity. An ‘emergency services weekend’ at the museum was cancelled due to ambulance workers in Unison and the Fire Brigades Union boycotting the event.
