Every year, the Socialist Party organises the largest gathering of socialists, campaigners, and activists who are serious about fighting for socialism. Socialism 2025 is filled with discussions and debates about socialist ideas that can change the world.

A growing number of people are looking for alternatives, and socialism is an idea that is resonating with many. Polls show that support for socialism – particularly among Gen Z – is high.

In the pages of the Socialist, you will read about the mass movements and uprisings against capitalism by Gen Z, including Nepal, Indonesia, South Korea, Morocco, Philippines, and Madagascar.

In the US, a YouGov poll indicated that nearly two-thirds of Gen Z Americans are likely to vote for a socialist candidate. The support for Zohran Mamdani, who is seen as a socialist, and says that there shouldn’t be billionaires, is putting him on track to be elected New York mayor.

18 October saw the largest single-day protest in US history, with nearly seven million people out protesting against Donald Trump.

Across Europe, left-wing forces like France Insoumise or Die Linke in Germany are gaining support. In the UK, the support for Your Party shows the appetite for a left-wing alternative.

Working-class and young people want their own political party. The Socialist Party is fighting to put the working class at the centre of the new party, so that workers and young people have a genuinely democratic voice – a party of our own.

Socialist Party members have been busy, participating in anti-war demonstrations, organising school student walkouts against Donald Trump’s visit, supporting workers on strike, and organising local campaigns against cuts.

And this coming year is going to be filled with struggle. We want to be ready and prepared.

The Socialist Party has its own printshop, so we can get leaflets, posters, and more out when we need them. We have also recently bought a two-colour printer to run leaflets for the many protests we take part in.

One of the highlights of Socialism 2025 is the Saturday night rally. This year, the theme is on ‘How Your Party can be a party of working-class struggle and socialism’. On Sunday, there will be an international solidarity rally, discussing the mass movements and why they are happening – to learn the lessons, and to prepare for the next ones.

A part of the rally on Saturday will be the financial appeal. This year, we set a target of £30,000.

All the donations we receive will be used to fund and promote socialist ideas. £10,000 of the money raised is going towards the international organisation that the Socialist Party is part of – the Committee for a Workers’ International (CWI).

You can donate today, or make a pledge to be redeemed by the end of the year.
