Around 150 of Leicester’s Kurdish population met at the city’s clocktower to demand liberation for Rojava. The protest was lively with a family atmosphere and young people in the lead. They marched through the streets chanting ‘Stop supporting ISIS’ and ‘Free Rojava, free Kurdistan’. Local Socialist Party members went along in solidarity, proudly carrying copies of The Socialist with reports of similar protests elsewhere in the country from the previous week.
