‘Together, you are unstoppable’:

Local activists marched through Southampton in solidarity with refugees on 1 March, from Portswood to the Peace Fountain in East Park. Socialist Party members marched in the protest. The demonstration countered the far-right Southampton Patriots, who have organised weekly anti-immigrant rallies outside Highfield House Hotel, Portswood.
The far right were recently responsible for an attack on a Unite Community meeting, accusing trade unions of supporting paedophilia and terrorism. On 1 March, significantly outnumbered by counter-demonstrators, Southampton Patriots ultimately decided not to march through Portswood.
