Students flocked to our Socialist Students campaign stall at the University of York, where we had the slogans of “Stop Trump’s wars in the Middle East” and “Say no to Starmer’s complicity”, opposing the bombing of Iran.
We linked this issue to the question of university funding, and the need for universities to open their books to democratic oversight of students and campus trade unions.
Many students who approached were keen to talk about next steps, asking about our plans to protest around the issue. York Socialist Students is holding a meeting – and meetings around the country – to discuss these immediate campaign questions, and how we can build a movement fighting to end capitalist wars.
