Seize your opportunity to register your opposition to Starmer’s Labour government and its austerity and war agenda. Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) candidates will be standing in hundreds of seats in the local elections. In many cases, those candidates will be members of the Socialist Party.

Engaging alongside workers and young people in struggle, a key demand the Socialist Party advances is for the building of a new mass party of the working class – and for the trade unions to lead in that process. A TUSC stand in May’s elections, is raising a signpost pointing in that direction to a broad audience – every elector in the seats where TUSC stands.

Build the Socialist Party

On top of that, every Socialist Party member campaigning in this election will raise the banner for socialist change high. Join us in campaigning to convince as many people as possible to fight for socialist ideas.

Come along to a local branch to discuss and help us build the fightback. In the next few weeks, every weekly Socialist Party branch meeting will be holding meetings on how we can build the struggle and campaign on local issues.

Discuss with us how we can formulate our slogans and demands to chime with the huge anger that exists? How can we use the election campaign to meet and discuss with the hundreds and thousands of workers and young people looking for a socialist alternative?

As part of the election campaign every branch will be setting campaign targets. Can you help us to reach these targets.

Through the campaign, every branch should aim to:

  • Organise at least one public meeting, which can be advertised online at socialistparty.org.uk/events
  • Aim to recruit at least two new Socialist Party members
  • Raise at least half of the branch fighting fund target
  • Sell a minimum of 15 copies of the Socialist newspaper every week
  • Organise at least two campaign stalls per week, and other activities – prioritising talking to as many people as possible

25 April – Socialist Saturday mega campaign day!

A focus of our campaigning will be centred around Saturday 25 April. Every member, supporter, and reader of the Socialist, should be invited to come and help us campaign on the day.

Help us get our socialist message out as loud and clear as possible, and strengthen the socialist forces for the continuing battles against Starmer’s war and austerity agenda beyond election day too.
