Don’t accept the politicians’ lies
Of all the lies establishment politicians tell, that a decent standard of living for all and quality public services aren’t ‘affordable’, is one of the biggest!
Keir Starmer’s Labour government will say that in today’s tumultuous, chaotic world, with Trump in the White House and wars spreading, we have to stick within our means. Meanwhile, military spending is on the up, and so are profits for big oil producers. MPs just had a 5% pay rise and the bosses of the biggest 100 UK companies had an average 18% pay rise this year.
Almost universally, local councillors representing the establishment parties either spread the lies themselves or swallow them.
We need councillors prepared to fight. Who tell the truth that councils do have the powers to build council homes, introduce rent controls, provide free school meals for all, reopen libraries and youth centres, and more. And who demand Keir Starmer’s government coughs up.
We need councils to fund services to meet needs, and which point to the huge wealth and resources created by workers but hoarded by the super-rich – make them pay!
