Isai Marijerla, Socialist Party Treasurer

Every quarter, the Socialist Party sets itself the target of raising £25,000 to fund our campaign materials and spread socialist ideas as widely as possible. Our branches will be planning their fundraising, like for example Lambeth and Southwark branch organising a south London, socialist walking tour.

The summer quarter is usually quieter, but we have already begun by taking our ideas to the Durham Miners’ Gala, Tolpuddle Martyrs festival, and a national Gaza demonstration. In some areas, our members have also taken part in local Pride events. This is on top of the regular local activities and campaigns that our branches are involved in week in, week out. So far we have raised £3,651 in three weeks.

This quarter will also include a national day of action on the weekend 5-6 September, to kick-start the autumn campaigning period and build support for the international youth walkout on 20 November. Activities will be taking place across the country. If you want to find out more or get involved, contact us now and help us build for it.
