Louie Nardini, York Socialist Party and Socialist Students

Socialist Party members in Yorkshire attended the Committee for a Workers’ International (CWI) event in Berlin. There were attendees from 17 countries, including every continent. On 15 August, we reported back to other members in Yorkshire.

At the CWI event, we tackled the issues surrounding the EU, Latin America, and China, and its class character, as well as the age of capitalist crisis the world is in.

At our Yorkshire meeting, we discussed how capitalism means war and climate destruction. Deaths, massacres, and bombing also mean austerity at home for workers and the dismantling of supply-chains. The only way to offset a system of declining profits, stagnation, and austerity is through an independent working-class alternative that puts internationalism at the forefront.

When we meet international students at freshers’ fairs, with our programme to fight capitalist austerity, profit, and warmongering, and mobilising for the 20 November international student walkouts, we are building the Socialist Party and CWI.
