Disciplinary action against UNISON secretary

THE BRANCH secretary of city of Plymouth UNISON is the target of disciplinary action by UNISON officials. Tony Staunton is accused of using UNISON equipment to produce a newsletter of UNISON United South West, contrary to the union's rules.

When Tony was lobbying parliament about the NHS on 1 November, regional officials entered the UNISON office in Plymouth, interviewed the branch administrator and treasurer and took away information from the office computers.

Tony was subsequently told to hand over his laptop and home computer, which contain personal information. He is contesting this and defending himself against the accusations.
